About the  Book Hubs

This project is to create and maintain a network of Lanark County Book Hubs, with free books, throughout Lanark County. Inspired by Renfrew County Book Trees, each book box is placed in a community space or neighbourhood where it can be easily accessed. Each Book Hub contains free books for use/ownership by anyone in the community.

The public libraries of Lanark County coordinate volunteer stewards, who each manage their individual Book Hub. Books are supplied via donations and discards from the library.

The first set of Book Hubs have been built by the Perth Men's Shed, with supplies from Perth Home Hardware. This initiative is made possible by the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th, a collaboration between the Perth & District Community Foundation, the Government of Canada, and extraordinary leaders from coast to coast to coast.
